This project has gotten a new breath of life and taken a new approach. I am producing this with 2D animation before I translate it into 3D. I want to see how it will turn out and use the 1st production as a dry run for the bigger series.<br />

I have been working on the latest production art character designs for Bioconvergence project. I am happy to present you with the final rendering of our main character/element that the whole story is based upon. For you who have not herd about the story here is a little recap. Bioconvergence is a story that takes place on the top of a Caldera. This is a volcano that has a body of water within the mouth of the volcanic mountain. The city that has been built there uses the thermal energy from the magma to power and run their cities industries. This city takes place in a pre-industrial society that reflects the Victorian/steam-punk age. An invasive alien colony of nanites that inhabited a meteor has crashed upon their city, a new monster has been created. Alien nanites merge with humans to create a bio-converged "zombie" that becomes more terrifying than any other version seen to date!. The city must evolve technologically in order to combat and survive the wave of death and destruction that is all but imminent. SO, without further delays I present you the main "evil" element of our story, the Bio-Creeper!!<br />

Still cranking away at my bioconvergence animated feature. I have the warehouse about 80% modeled. I have to add some more details. The final style is steampunk/ industrial age. the roof will be glass and the building is abandoned so it will have that texture and look when I am done texturing it. Hello everyone :)
I just wanted to post an update...I have hit a creative road block considering the design of the overall style of the film. I have in mind what the mood is and now just trying to flesh out some designs for the buildings and everyday objects that will be present in the environment. I can tell you that producing a CG feature is not easy as I first thought, and that is even after obtaining three degrees in Animation & visual effects. I think the process is a little frustrating because I have only two people working on this project, including myself and my writer. I did have a larger group, but they had to bail to go back to school, very understandable. But without a larger group of people that could handle the many hats in this project, its all up to me.

So this is Samantha other wise affectionately known as Sam. She has a shy personality that diminishes over time while on the adventure with Gabe. This is a final concept of her character design. So I have been working frantically with fun on the base story for Bioconvergence. I tackled this first character concept for the story. He is the main character, his name is Gabriel but everyone calls him Gabe for short. He is 15 years old and going on 20. This week I will be "fleshing" out the designs for his mom, dad, his friend Sam (Samantha) and some military key personnel.

Here is another shot of the Caldera with Orson City (the name we bestowed upon the main focus of our story). This one was done under an hour, just a quick concept. I fleshed out this iteration of the city from the viewpoint of the main power generator island that is in the middle of the culdera. It took a little over an hour, moving on to other shots. Cannot wait to get them all together in an art book, all polished. This is a house and apartment complex created in Photoshop as preliminary ideas to the style and look development for the city. We are still refining through various re-iterations of this concept. We are looking for a modern original steam-punk look without overdoing the Victorian aspect of it. Does that make sense? This was the final design for the "human" Slith Creeper. It is going to look good modeled in 3D. We are toying with the idea of a 2D & 3D hybrid anime short. It will have 3D environments, 2D toon shaders and 3D matte paintings for the BG and environments. We like the look of the Borderlands game where they created textures that looked like concept art, but mapped onto 3D meshes. Any comments or ideas are more than welcomed, even draw us a picture that we can stick up here on our blog! This is a preliminary concept for the "Slith Creeper". It is a character that has been formed from alien nanites. A meteor has crashed upon the city and with it comes a deadly nanites that kill living organic matter and transforms them by becoming a host. We refer it to "advanced Space Zombies". When the nanites infect a living host, it transforms them into a technological ravaging creature capable of forming advanced weapons that are derived from the host stored memories.

Our first production is a short CG film title "Bioconvergence". We started this project in May of 2012 as a launching point for our studio. We are in the process of building production assets and a demo "trailer" to secure funding for the main production. There has been many iterations on style and story direction.
